National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week

Lead Paint is the #1 environmental source for lead poisoning!

Has your child been tested?

Lead poisoning can cause learning and behavioral problems, damage the brain as well as interfering with routine growth and hearing.

TIPS on lowering your child's risk of lead poisoning:

Frequent Hand washing     Make good food choices

Keep your home clean         Testing & follow up

         We have a new face, Come & See!

The Regional Resource Center has now been "mainstreamed" into the main library!

    With our tools and information being integrated into the main library,  everyone in the community will benefit, not just a select few.

    Passport holders will still have all of the benefits you are used to having, such as fax and copier services for medical related reasons, but with so much more.

    If you would like to be a passport member with free services, please call us at 410-543-6944 ext.1700.

 

 

 What We Offer...

 

  • Information, support and assistance to families of children with special healthcare needs. Regional Resource Center has many different tools and information that are available to you and your family.
  • The Regional Resource Center & the Wicomico County Free Library work together to house a wide variety of tools and information that are available for free use. If a client is unable to get to the library, he or she may checkout books, videos and literature through the Eastern Shore Regional Library System. Checked out items will be delivered directly to the family's local library!
  • The RRC & Library provide a place for self-directed, independent research on special needs information
  • Computers with Internet Access
  • A computer with magnification and speech output software, and  IntelliKeys keyboard
  • Books, periodicals, and audio and videotapes regarding various special needs
  • Fax machine to send and receive medical records
  • TTY Services On-Line
  • Up to Date literature
  • Bulletin Board for announcements and upcoming events
  • Copy machine for medical reports and materials from resources and manuals

    Coming Soon: Adjustable desk to accommodate different sized wheel chairs & other necessary equipment

    Note: A private room can be booked ahead of time... right on line!
